Biking in.

I biked to work today, but left a bit later than usual. It definitely keeps you on your toes.
There are more cars around, but the best thing is – more fellow bikers :) I think I got to work much quicker, mainly coz there’s all these people to race against. When you pass one of them, there is usually another up ahead to catch up to. And if for some strange reason (shock! horror!!) someone passes you - then they are now your enemy, and must not be allowed to escape! Yes I’m a tad crazy, but normal is boring...

There are also certain intersections where groups of cyclists clump up before the traffic lights, so it’s a bit of a test to get up to speed and beat the pack, or is that a peloton?

An Intro to Geocaching.

A friend of mine sent me this little movie which gives a pretty good rundown on Geocaching (apparently this is from a recent film).

It's so very much like my experiences with Geocaching....

I found a primo spot for lunch today. Great views, great perch, and good weather (although I can't always rely on the weather being good, can I?). Only thing that spoilt it was the fact I had waaaaay too much damn chilli in my stir fry lunch. Owww goes my tongue. It's pretty much recovered now though.

Seeya Dan

My mate Dan had his birthday recently (and he's recently left his job for self employment). A group of mates and I got him a nicely framed photo to remind him of the unique connection we have - as work email buddies ;)

Unless you have super duper laser eyes (better than mine), you'll probably need to click on it to see the text. But make sure you keep in mind this is firmly tongue in cheek (Sheesh wouldn't want any of my work colleagues seeing this and getting me in the poo!)

Cool

Just spoke to my manager today. She’s organising our end of year team event at the ice skating rink.... Cool!
I didn’t prod her that much, although I think that means lots of my workmates will want to watch me skate now.

Hmmm. Better get practicing.

Also, don’t you hate it when your car gets broken into? The rascal stole $5 of parking coins and a muesli bar. Unfortunately for him there wasn’t much else in there. New car on the way methinks...

Cuzzy spotted a koala!

This is an email my cousin, Nina (Noosa, Australia) sent to her local newspaper.

Hi

My name is Nina Birtles (11). I have just had a koala in the yard.

I was with my sister Geneva(9) and her friend Georgia(8) I was making
potions with them when it happened and it climbed down the tree then
walked around the yard and came up another tree and did a humongous
jump to the yard next door, my neighbour across the road Trena reckons
that our potions attracted the nature gods and sent a koala to the
yard. I've got a movie of it doing the jump and a photo for the paper.

Thank you.

From Nina

PS:I took these photos on my camera and hope you can publish a photo. I don't mind , even if it's like a few weeks later.

Oh, and here's the video :)

I should ask about that potion recipe, wouldn't mind one that summoned a dinosaur, maybe a Triceratops or a friendly T-rex. That'd be cool.

I've been thinking.

Dangerous I know...

Well, I was thinking a bit about the whole point of having a blog, and if I was to keep this, what should I do with it? I’ve had this one for a while and in some ways it seems like a waste to let it die. I do use Facebook these days but the problem I have with Facebook is that it’s basically one big spamming engine, where your “friends” spam you whether you like it or not.
At least you guys who read my blog are making a conscious decision to do so (and I do check my stats every so often, so I know you’re out there!! :P be thankful I don’t have quite the numbers to bother hosting ads yet though) - oh and thanks by the way! J
It does feel cool to have my own blog tho, y’know my own space where I can say whatever I feel like.

Well, I think I need to re-evaluate my posting philosophy. The main problem is, I’m really super duper busy. So it always feels like such damn hard work to post regular, decent structured posts of content, and photos, as much as I’d like to.
But I’ve come to the conclusion that something is better than nothing, so I might (try to) start posting smaller, less structured posts, but more regularly. I certainly aint aiming to be another Twitter-er though. As much as I try, I still don’t understand Twitter. Anyway, let’s see how it goes.

Also, went out to a buffet lunch with workmates today, why do I always eat waay too much??? I was friggen yummo tho... glad I have the gym to beat me back into shape.
